A new study has revealed that 79% of the UK population earning more than £100,00 a year are men. This percentage has fallen from 83% in 2011, which shows that even though there are cracks in the glass ceiling, UK has a long way to go in gender pay equality and is predicted to not come close to it until 2055.
The pay gap equality is most seen in health and social work sector and worst in financial services sector. This can be attributed to the proportion of women working in these sectors as compared to men.
