New websites continue to pop up everyday around the world. Many of these websites are designed and developed by freelancers from all over the world. Some of them work independently, others with agencies. A lot of these freelancers go unnoticed or never get the recognition for the hours of painstaking work they put into delivering unique website designs.
At Market Inspector we engage with many businesses and part of daily work is the recognition of other amazing projects. After an extensive research we have put together a list of designers, who we have nominated for the maiden award for top freelance web designers in the UK.
All the web designers that appear on our list have been selected solely by the Market Inspector team. They have been awarded based on these 4 criteria: usability, design, creativity and content. These are described below.
Usability – This is the ease with which users can navigate through your website. This means that the menus, categories, search bar and links should be user friendly. For example, usability is paramount when designing an e-commerce store, in order to facilitate sales.
Design – Broadly speaking, this refers to the front-end design of the website, the user interface design (UI) and the user experience design (UX). Among other things it also includes elements such as layout, menu type, mobile website design, and so on.
Creativity – Creativity refers to how you translate your design inspirations into actual designs that are visually appealing and relatable to the user. This could also be unique designs or the use of elements specific to a niche.
Content – Content refers to text, videos, infographics, images etc. This refers to how well the message to the user has been communicated. This means meeting web standards for content, keyword planning, content relevance, content proofreading, SEO and much more.
